1. What is Green Hero?

We are a platform that helps F&B to tackle their food waste problem by helping them to do Discount Hour to clear their food on their last call at cheaper price or we will help them to send it to charity. 

2. How do customers buy the food at discounted price? 

They can join our Telegram or WA community. Once they have enter the Green Hero community, they can click the link to order the food whenver our admin post about it. 

 

3) Who will buy from us?
Usually, they are the green minded people who wants to rescue the edible food before they are thrown away. This is where people to get to buy more food at a discounted price to save them on their last call. Besides that, we do have NGOs with us that people can buy to rescue the food and channel it to the NGOs. 

4) How do we make money? 

Our business model is similar to Grab. The only difference is that, we help to do Discount Hour , stock clearance on our platform to clear as much food as we can for people to rescue them at a good bargain to prevent food waste.  We also have people from the green community who wants to do charity with Green Hero by rescuing the food and channel it to those in need. 

5) Do we have competitors?

We don't have any direct competitors for now because the market is too complex and it is not an easy business to do that requires a lot of patience, understanding and compromise here and there to sign up F&B merchants to join us.

Our indirect competitors are other Food Rescue NGOs and soup kitchens who also reach out to other F&Bs to receive food donations from them and also supermarkets that do stock clearance at the stock clearance corner.

7) What is our biggest milestone so far? 

We managed to rescue over 800,000kg of food waste from going to the landfill. That is equivalent to 75,047 Myvi cars.

8) So, you may ask, why did a social enterprise choose to join an event by Vilor?

I will like to challenge myself to experience new things so that I can grow the start-up to become better and greater. The more exposure and experience I have, the better it is for Green Hero.
Furthermore, we are doing a crowdfunding to raise RM3500 to enter the 1st round of competition with Vilor. Our products are mostly food & drinks.

However, to cater for the need for such an event I have put my time & effort to come up with a course. A course that I know will bring some great value to you and also inspire more green business in Malaysia.
